There is a great tradition of hunting in the Wipp Valley. Emperor Maximilian I even followed the dear and chamois hunt here. In the Brenner area there are, currently, approximately 200 ibexes, the chamois population numbers 500 animals and that of the red dear is 180. The hunt today is highly regulated and does not threaten the survival of a species, but keeps the population healthy and provides delicious food.
