Theme: The mining city Vipiteno/Sterzing
Tip: H. Multscher and City Museum
The northernmost city of Italy, Vipiteno/Sterzing, has always benefited from trade and traffic along the Brenner route. Thanks to the favorable location close to the surrounding mining areas, many merchant families have set up a branch here, such as the Fugger. The period of maximum splendor, in the late Middle Ages, is largely preserved in the picturesque center until today. The wealth of the city has allowed bourgeois families to bring famous artists such as Ulm's painter Hans Multscher to Vipiteno.
